Local sources in Badakhshan province say that Ahmad Shadab, the commander of the Taliban’s fifth security district in Faizabad city, clashed with the criminal chief of Khash district last week and seriously injured him.

According to sources, the clash took place on June 15, and as a result, the criminal chief of Khash district suffered serious injuries to his head, eyes, hands and feet. Sources add that after being transferred to the Badakhshan provincial hospital, he was transferred to a specialized hospital in Kabul for further treatment and his right eye was also completely damaged.

Sources also claim that Ahmad Shadab was arrested last year on charges of adultery, but after some time he was reappointed as the commander of the fifth district of Faizabad.

The Taliban have not yet responded to this incident and the allegations made, and Kabul Times News is unable to independently verify this information.
