Agricultural production growth in Panjshir; Mulberry yield increased by 13 percent and wheat by 18 percent

The Panjshir local administration has announced a 13 percent increase in mulberry yield and 18 percent in wheat production in 1405, citing support for gardeners and improved irrigation infrastructure.
According to published information, mulberry production in the province has increased from 3,500 metric tons in 1404 to 4,230 metric tons this year. According to officials, about 1,400 hectares of Panjshir land is under mulberry cultivation.
Panjshir agriculture officials consider favorable weather conditions, support for gardeners, distribution of fruit drying machines, and construction and reconstruction of irrigation canals to be the most important factors in increasing agricultural production in the province.
Meanwhile, the local administration has announced that 130 tons of Panjshir cherries have been exported to Russia and a number of Central Asian countries this year, which the administration said is a step towards strengthening the local economy and increasing the income of gardeners.
Also, in recent weeks, 165 fruit dryers have been distributed among gardeners in the districts of Dara, Hesa Awal, and Panjshir Center; a move that will help improve the processing, storage, and value-added of garden products.
Economic experts believe that developing the agricultural sector, increasing the export of garden products, and investing in processing industries can play an important role in growing the local economy, creating job opportunities, and improving the livelihoods of farming families in Panjshir province.
