Afghan-Australian citizen killed in Ghazni

Local sources in Ghazni province say that an Afghan-Australian citizen named Mohammad Ali Attaei was killed in the Jaghori district of the province after traveling to Afghanistan.

According to the sources, Mr. Attaei had returned to his hometown in the village of “Baba” in Jaghori district after living in Australia for several years, believing that the security situation in Afghanistan had improved.

The sources added that he was shot and killed by unknown gunmen two days ago.

The motive for the murder and the identities of the perpetrators have not been clarified so far. Local Taliban officials have also not officially commented on the incident and its details.

This incident occurs at a time when concerns about the security of citizens and returnees from abroad continue in some parts of Afghanistan.
