Taliban Hosts First Meeting of Strategic Studies Centers in Afghanistan and Central Asia

The first meeting of “Strategic Studies Centers and Think Tanks of Afghanistan and Central Asian Countries, Including the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held by the Taliban in Kabul under the title “Strategic Role of Think Tanks in Regional Cooperation”.

The meeting, which was held at the initiative of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Albania, was attended by the heads and boards of study centers and think tanks from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The speakers of the meeting emphasized the importance of scientific and research cooperation between the countries of the region and highlighted the role of think tanks in providing practical solutions for the development of political, economic, transit and cultural cooperation.

The meeting also emphasized the need to strengthen regional cooperation in addressing common challenges, including climate change, water shortages, security issues and the development of large transit and economic projects.

The participants expressed their hope that this meeting would pave the way for a new phase of research and intellectual cooperation between Afghanistan, Central Asian countries, and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and would help strengthen mutual trust and develop regional cooperation.
