Criticism of the release of an old photo by the Taliban police spokesman in Kabul

A number of social media users and local sources have questioned the claim of Khalid Zadran, the spokesman for the Taliban police command in Kabul, about a person who was recently arrested.

Khalid Zadran had announced on his official page that the arrested person is accused of running over three young girls with his car three days ago. However, critics say that the photo published to introduce this person is from about six years ago and has no connection to the recent incident.

According to these sources, the person seen in the photo was the driver of the commander of the sixth police district of Kabul during the previous government, and the published photo also refers to an old news report related to the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Critics have called on the Taliban to provide more explanations about the identity of the arrested person and the authenticity of the documents and photos published. They emphasize that the use of old photos in new cases can lead to more ambiguity and questions about the information process.

Taliban officials have not yet responded to the criticism.
