Putin: Iran is a friendly country for Russia; peaceful nuclear cooperation will continue

In his latest statements on Moscow-Tehran relations, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Iran a “friendly country” and spoke of the high level of trust between the two countries.
Putin stated: “Iran is a friendly country for us. I believe that Iran trusts Russia and the level of trust between the two countries is very high.”
The Russian President also referred to nuclear cooperation between Tehran and Moscow and said that the existing uranium, after reducing the level of enrichment, can be used within the framework of peaceful nuclear programs.
According to Putin, this cooperation can continue in the field of nuclear energy production, development of civilian projects and other peaceful nuclear activities; activities that will be carried out under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
These statements come at a time when Iran's nuclear issue remains one of the most important issues discussed in international diplomacy. The role of the International Atomic Energy Agency in monitoring Iran's nuclear activities and ensuring the peaceful nature of this program continues to be of concern to the international community.
