India Secures Passage for 8 Oil Tankers Through the Strait of Hormuz After Talks With Tehran
Bloomberg reported that India, following bilateral negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, has been able to facilitate the passage of at least eight oil tankers linked to the country through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report published on Saturday, a giant India-linked tanker flying the flag of the Marshall Islands is attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, based on vessel-tracking data.
Bloomberg added that the tanker is carrying around 45,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and has previously made several trips between the Persian Gulf and India. The vessel has declared India as its final destination.
The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes, and any tension or restrictions in this strategic waterway could have a direct impact on global oil and gas markets.
