National Resistance Front: Badakhshan will be the “beginning of the Taliban’s defeat”

Sayed Yasin Sadad, deputy of the military committee of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, announced the beginning of a new phase of Taliban opposition activities in Badakhshan province, calling the province “the beginning of the Taliban’s defeat.”

In his latest statements, Sadad said that Badakhshan has always been a symbol of popular resistance in Afghan history and, due to its geographical and mountainous location, has the potential to become the focus of widespread operations against the Taliban.

He described the Taliban’s efforts to legitimize their rule in Badakhshan as unsuccessful, adding that popular dissatisfaction in the province continues.

The deputy of the military committee of the National Resistance Front also emphasized that seasonal operations in Badakhshan can pave the way for the freedom of the Afghan people. He called on all anti-Taliban forces to act in unison and coordination to further consolidate and strengthen the resistance fronts.

These statements come at a time when reports have been published in recent months of increased Taliban opposition movements in some northeastern provinces of Afghanistan.
