Attacks on US bases in the region increase; 39 attacks reported in past 24 hours
Media sources are reporting 39 attacks on US military bases in the region in the past 24 hours, targeting several important US military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain.
According to reports, in the first wave of attacks that occurred yesterday morning, 21 attacks were carried out on three important US bases. These attacks targeted Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, one of the important centers of US air and logistics operations, Ali Salem Air Base in Kuwait, an air support and troop transport center, as well as the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
In the second wave, reported this morning, 18 more attacks were carried out on US military facilities. These attacks targeted Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, where fighter jets are stationed and conduct reconnaissance missions, Ali Salem Air Base again, and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
As of this writing, US officials have not released further details about the extent of possible damage or casualties from the attacks. There has also been no official claim of responsibility for the attacks.
These events come as security and military tensions in the Middle East have increased in recent days, and concerns about the spread of the conflict persist.
