First Afghan Legal Professional Registered in Germany’s Official List of Extrajudicial Legal Service Providers
Mr. Elhamuddin Sadat has been officially registered as the first Afghan legal professional in the list of extrajudicial legal service providers in foreign law, maintained by the Federal Office of Justice (Germany).
According to an official letter issued by the Federal Office of Justice and shared with our media outlet, Mr. Sadat has been formally included in the register of providers authorized to deliver extrajudicial legal services in the field of foreign law. His professional details have also been published in the electronic database available on the official website of the Federal Office of Justice.
Prior to his migration to Germany approximately three years ago, Mr. Sadat was a member of the Afghanistan Independent Bar Association and was affiliated with international legal organizations.
Although a number of Afghan legal professionals have previously been active in Germany within the framework of bar associations and other judicial or legal institutions in accordance with German law, this marks the first instance in which an Afghan legal expert has been formally registered under Germany’s Legal Services Act (Rechtsdienstleistungsgesetz) to provide extrajudicial legal services in the area of foreign law through the official list of the Federal Office of Justice.
Prior to Mr. Sadat’s inclusion, the register comprised approximately 330 legal professionals from various countries worldwide. He is now recognized as the first Afghan legal practitioner to be added to this list.
Registration in this official directory is a rigorous, time-intensive, and highly selective process, involving thorough professional and technical assessments of applicants from across the globe.
Mr. Sadat’s achievement represents not only a significant personal and national milestone, but also a clear testament to the growing international recognition of the capabilities and expertise of Afghan legal professionals.
