Young man killed in Samangan; concerns over increased insecurity and criminality
Local sources in Samangan province say a 27-year-old young man was killed by unknown gunmen in the city of Aibak, the provincial capital.
According to sources, the body of the young man was found in a garden in the vicinity of Aibak after a few hours and the motive for the murder has not yet been clarified.
Sources added that Taliban forces arrived at the scene after the incident, but no details about the perpetrators of the murder have been released so far.
This incident occurs at a time when, despite the Taliban’s claims about ensuring nationwide security, reports of an increase in targeted killings, armed robberies and criminal offenses have increased in a number of Afghan provinces in recent months.
