Woman killed in Badakhshan after family dispute over house sale

Local sources in Baharak district of Badakhshan province say that a woman was shot and killed after a family dispute with her husband over the sale of a house.

According to sources, the incident took place in the Doab area of ​​Baharak district and the dispute between the couple intensified after the woman opposed the sale of the house. The sources added that the woman’s husband fired seven bullets at his wife during a verbal altercation, killing her instantly.

Local sources also say that the perpetrator fled the scene after the incident and no details have been released about his arrest. Local Taliban officials have not yet officially commented on the incident.

The incident comes as cases of domestic violence and the murder of women have increased in parts of Afghanistan in recent months, raising widespread concerns about the security situation and women's rights.
