Taliban arrest officials of Baran Institute of Health Sciences in Bamyan.

Bamyan – Local sources in Bamyan province say that Taliban intelligence forces have arrested officials and a number of employees of Baran Institute of Health Sciences for the second time and have stopped the activities of this educational center.

According to the sources, Taliban intelligence forces raided the building of this institute in the center of Bamyan on Monday afternoon and arrested Dr. Naveed Mozaffari, one of the founders of this educational center.

A source close to the detainees, who did not want to be named, told Kabul Times News that Abdul Haq Shafaq, the administrative director, and Mohammad Hassan Akbari, the teaching director of the institute, were also among the detainees.

According to the source, seven professors as well as Dr. Ali Najafi, the head of the Baran Institute of Health Sciences, were also arrested during the operation; But they were released on bail a few hours later.

Sources added that there is no information about the fate of some of the other detainees. According to them, Dr. Navid Mozaffari was arrested again by the Taliban on Wednesday after arriving in Bamyan.

According to local sources, after sealing the institute building, Taliban intelligence forces have taken a commitment from the professors and employees of the center that Dr. Navid Mozaffari will appear at the 08th Directorate of the Taliban Intelligence Directorate in Bamyan, headed by Maulvi Shahid.

The Baran Institute of Health Sciences is located in the Posht Maidan area, Shuhada Chowk, near Bamyan Airport, and was one of the few health science training centers for girls in the province.

This incident occurred while the Taliban had also stopped the broadcasts of Bamyan Radio on Wednesday and arrested a number of employees of this media outlet.

So far, Taliban officials in Bamyan have not commented on the reason for the arrest of officials from the Baran Institute of Health Sciences and the closure of this educational center.
