Local sources in Yakawlang District No. 1 of Bamyan Province say that T-Alban has banned the sale of telecommunication network SIM cards to women in this district.
According to sources, this restriction was imposed by T-Alban about two weeks ago and was communicated to all SIM card sales agencies.
Sources added that T-Alban has warned sellers to refrain from providing SIM cards to women. According to them, T-Alban officials justified this decision by saying: “Do not give SIM cards to women, because they mislead men.”
Local residents say this measure is a new restriction on women and girls in Afghanistan; While access to telecommunications and communication services is considered a basic need for citizens.
In recent years, Albania has imposed extensive restrictions on women's social presence and access to education, work, and public services, a move that has consistently faced criticism from human rights organizations and the international community.
