Pakistani troops cross border fence; concerns over Durand Line situation intensify.
Local sources in Afghanistan’s border areas say that a number of Pakistani troops have crossed parts of the border and entered Afghan territory in recent weeks.
According to the sources, these forces have been present in several border villages and met with local residents. Reports also show that groups of Pakistani soldiers have crossed the border fence and moved around near newly built gates.
Local sources add that these forces have also promised to provide Pakistani identity documents during their meetings with local residents. Images published on social media also show the presence of Pakistani vehicles and troops in some border areas.
Meanwhile, the increase in these movements has raised concerns about the security situation and tensions along the Durand Line. So far, Taliban officials have not reacted to this.
