Authorities in Northern Cyprus have announced the arrest of a 24-year-old Israeli man at Ercan Airport after security officers discovered four human embryos inside a cryogenic container in his luggage during a routine inspection.

The individual was reportedly en route to Mexico via Istanbul.

According to officials, he has been charged with violating laws related to the transfer and handling of human cells, tissues, and organs.

Investigations are currently ongoing into the origin of the embryos, their intended purpose, and possible links to a medical facility associated with an Israeli company.
