The Taliban’s heavy shadow over the media; Radio Bamyan was stopped and its building was sealed, T-Alban intelligence has stopped the activities of Radio Bamyan and sealed the building of this media.

Local sources in Bamyan province have confirmed that T-Alban intelligence forces entered the office of Radio Bamyan without providing any official explanation and shut down its broadcasts.

Radio Bamyan was a well-known local media in the province that covered Bamyan events by broadcasting news, cultural and social programs.

This action came at a time when T-Alban has imposed extensive restrictions on the media after returning to power in 2021; including arresting journalists and closing a number of media outlets.

This is despite the fact that, after nearly 5 years of Taliban rule, there have been no changes in Taliban policies towards the media, and censorship and systematic closure of media outlets are increasing every day.
