Kabul Times News | Afghanistan
After last night’s airstrikes in parts of Paktika, Paktia and Kunar provinces, Pakistani officials and the Taliban government have given different accounts of the targets and casualties of the attacks.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has claimed that 25 members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar were killed in the attacks.
In contrast, the Taliban government has announced that attacks were carried out on residential houses in the districts of Gyan in Paktika province, Chamkani in Paktia province and Munawwarah in Kunar province.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also claimed in a series of images on the social network X (X) that “dozens of civilians, including women and children,” were killed and wounded in the attacks, but did not provide an exact figure for the number of victims.
As of press time, the claims made by both sides have not been independently verified, and further details about the exact number of victims and the nature of the targets of the attacks are not available.
