According to court documents and international media reports, two men have been identified in connection with the alleged theft of equipment belonging to the England national football team during the transportation of team belongings at the 2026 World Cup.
The individuals, identified as Mustafa Salak and Irfan Kamal, are said to be of Afghan origin and were previously granted U.S. citizenship due to their cooperation with American forces during the war against the Taliban. They are now being prosecuted on charges related to receiving stolen property.
Reports indicate that the England team’s equipment went missing while being transported from a training camp in Florida to the team’s accommodation in Kansas City.
The estimated value of the missing items is around $18,000, including football boots, training kits, balls, and other equipment.
The two suspects have reportedly been arrested and released on bail set at approximately $75,000 USD, and are awaiting further legal proceedings.
