Trump: Taliban trying to please America

US President Donald Trump once again described the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan as "catastrophic" and claimed that the Taliban was trying to please Washington.

On the sidelines of the G7 summit, Trump said that if he were responsible for the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, all American military equipment and facilities would be withdrawn from the country.

Criticizing the way the previous US administration withdrew from Afghanistan, he emphasized that billions of dollars in military equipment remained in the country. Trump also spoke about the possibility of retrieving the remaining military equipment in Afghanistan, calling it one of the issues his government is considering.

Trump's statements come at a time when the issue of US military equipment remaining in Afghanistan remains a contentious and controversial issue between Washington and the Taliban.
