Kabul Times News | Head of the Ulema Council of the Resistance Front: We will not seek permission from anyone to fight against the Taliban
Following the publication of reports that the Islamic Republic of Iran opposes the start of military clashes against the Taliban, the head of the Ulema Council of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan reacted to these reports.
Maulvi Hessam, head of the Ulema Council of the Resistance Front, wrote on his Facebook page: “We will not seek permission from anyone to fight against the Taliban.”
He did not mention a specific country or party in this message; however, these statements come in a situation where reports have been published in recent days about the Islamic Republic of Iran’s opposition to any military action against the Taliban.
Some political observers believe that the coincidence of these statements with the publication of recent reports could indicate an indirect response to this issue.
In recent weeks, a number of media outlets and informed sources have reported on the efforts of some countries in the region to prevent the escalation of tensions and military clashes in Afghanistan. According to these sources, some regional actors prefer to pursue existing differences through political and diplomatic channels.
Despite these reports, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan have not yet published any official and joint position on this issue.
This is while the political and security developments in Afghanistan continue to be important issues of concern to regional countries, and any change in the security equations can affect regional relations and policies.
