Faiq: Taliban are keeping Afghanistan out of global progress

Naseer Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan’s acting permanent representative to the United Nations, says that the Taliban’s restrictions on education, knowledge and technology have kept Afghanistan out of the path of global development and progress.

Faiq stated that while the world is rapidly moving towards new technologies, artificial intelligence and innovation, the Taliban have restricted the Afghan people’s access to education, knowledge and information.

He emphasized that the continuation of these policies will expose Afghanistan to more poverty, isolation and backwardness. This is while millions of girls are still deprived of the right to education and widespread restrictions on education, employment and civil liberties continue; an issue that many experts believe has deepened the gap between Afghanistan and the world.
