Former soldier dies in Badakhshan after being beaten by Taliban intelligence chief

Local sources in Badakhshan province say that Parvez Mujahid, a former police officer in the republican government, died in hospital after he was allegedly beaten by Maulvi Siraj, the Taliban intelligence chief in Shuhada district, and suffered a brain hemorrhage.

According to the sources, the incident had occurred some time ago and Parvez Mujahid was under treatment after being transferred to a medical center, but he died due to the severity of his injuries.

The Taliban in Badakhshan province have not yet responded to this claim and the cause of Parvez Mujahid’s death.
