Rocket attack claims on T/Alban border battalion in Badakhshan; sources report arrest and beating of former soldier

Kabul Times News | Badakhshan

Local sources in the Qawan district of Badakhshan province say that a T/Alban border battalion in the district was targeted by a rocket attack last night.

According to these sources, the attackers left the area after the attack. The sources also claim that after this incident, the commander of the T/Alban border battalion arrested and beat a former soldier named Jahangir Rahmani, who they said was doing daily chores, along with several others.

So far, the T/Alban has not officially responded to these claims, and no further details have been released about possible casualties or damages from this attack.

This report is being published at a time when local sources report an increase in armed attacks on T/Alban positions in Badakhshan province. Some sources have also claimed that two days ago, forces known as the “Homeland Front” briefly took control of the Lower Yaftal district; a claim that has not yet been confirmed by independent sources.

Kabul Times News is unable to independently verify these claims and will update this report if new information is released or if the Taliban officially responds.
