Ayatollah Behsudi: People’s silence emboldens Taliban to increase pressure on Shiites
In Eid prayer sermons, Ayatollah Vaezzada Behsudi accused the Taliban of injustice and widespread pressure on Afghan Shiites.
He said that the more people remained silent about the Taliban’s behavior, the more the group increased its harassment and pressure on citizens.
Behsudi strongly criticized the Taliban’s incursions into Shiite areas, the ban on women’s education, religious restrictions, and extortion, and sent a clear message to Taliban leader Haibatullah Akhundzada.
These statements come as concerns about increasing pressure and restrictions on the Shiite community in Afghanistan continue to surface.
