Intelligence-Taliban arrest former government general on charges of murdering two women in Kabul

Sources say that Lt. Gen. Shoor Gul Pashtun, former deputy minister of defense and commander of the 203rd Thunder Corps, is accused of being involved in the crime using government resources.

Sources have told Kabul Times News that the Taliban have arrested Lt. Gen. Shoor Gul Pashtun, a senior commander of the former Afghan government, on charges of being involved in the murder of two women in Kabul.

According to the sources, the former general is accused of being involved in the murder of the two women “using government resources.” The bodies of the two women were found a few days ago in different areas of Kabul; but the Taliban have not yet released official details about the identities of the victims and how the incident occurred.

Lt. Gen. Shoor Gul Pashtun held the position of deputy minister of defense and commander of the 203rd Thunder Corps in the previous Afghan government. He had pledged allegiance to the Taliban in 2023, along with a number of military officials from the previous government.

So far, Taliban officials have not officially commented on the allegations and the investigation process of this case.
