The Window of Hope Women’s Movement Expresses Concern Over Forced Deportation of Afghan Refugees
The Window of Hope Women’s Movement has issued a statement expressing its deep concern over the intensification of the process of forced deportation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan and Iran.
The statement states that the forced return of refugees to Afghanistan, given the dire human rights situation under Taliban rule, will have widespread humanitarian, social, and security consequences.
According to the statement, women and girls in Afghanistan face systematic deprivation of basic rights, including education, employment, social participation, and freedom of movement, and their forced return could exacerbate risks such as poverty, gender-based violence, and forced marriages.
