International Federation of Human Rights Defenders in Exile Holds Meeting with UNHCR in Pakistan

The International Federation of Human Rights Defenders in Exile (IFHRDE) held a meeting with officials from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Pakistan, where it raised serious challenges facing Afghan refugees.
In the meeting, representatives of the Federation highlighted the critical situation of Afghan families and called for the acceleration of refugee status determination processes, an immediate halt to forced deportations, enhanced security for civil society activists, and improved access to basic services such as housing, education, and healthcare.
UNHCR officials acknowledged the challenges raised and committed to discussing these issues with the Pakistani government. They pledged to take practical steps to expedite case processing and reduce pressures on Afghan refugees.
The International Federation of Human Rights Defenders in Exile stated that it will continue to follow up on these matters consistently until tangible results are achieved and the situation of Afghan refugees improves.
