Afghanistan shines with high-scoring victory over New Zealand

The Afghan national futsal team continued its impressive performance in the 2026 Continental Futsal Championship, defeating New Zealand 6-1, recording one of its highest-scoring victories in the competition.

The Afghan national team dominated the game from the very beginning and, with an attacking display, managed to score six goals in New Zealand’s goal. New Zealand managed to score only once and could not withstand Afghanistan’s continuous attacks.

This victory has boosted the morale of the Afghan players for the continuation of the competition and has improved the team’s position in the continental competition table. The tournament will be hosted by Thailand and will feature Afghanistan, Thailand, Russia, Vietnam and New Zealand.
