Floods, storms kill 351 in Afghanistan

Kabul – Kabul Times News: The Taliban government’s National Disaster Preparedness Office has announced that since the 6th of Abr, floods, heavy rainfall and storms have killed 351 people and injured 436 others in different parts of Afghanistan.

According to published statistics, these natural events have also destroyed more than 10,000 residential houses and caused extensive damage to infrastructure and citizens’ property.

In recent years, Afghanistan has repeatedly faced deadly floods due to climate change, heavy rainfall and weak crisis management infrastructure. Experts believe that strengthening early warning systems, improving crisis management and implementing preventive programs can play an effective role in reducing casualties and losses caused by natural disasters.

The Taliban have not yet provided further details about the process of dealing with the victims and reconstruction plans for the damaged areas.
