Five Unfinished Dreams in the Plains of Nimroz; Deadly Migration Claims Afghans’ Lives Again

Local sources reported the discovery of the bodies of five Afghan citizens in the plains of Nimroz province; people who were said to have been trying to enter Iran through smuggling routes, but lost their lives on this dangerous journey.

According to published information, these people had taken the path of illegal migration in search of better life and work opportunities; a path that claims the lives of dozens of Afghan citizens every year in the deserts, borders and difficult migration routes.

The ongoing economic crisis, unemployment, poverty and widespread restrictions have forced many citizens to choose smuggling routes to leave the country despite serious risks; a decision that in many cases ends in human tragedy.

As of the time of publication, authorities have not released details about the identities of the victims or the exact cause of their deaths, and investigations are ongoing.
