Iran claims retaliation against US positions; explosions reported in southern Iran

Iranian media reported hearing several explosions in various parts of the country’s south. According to reports, the explosions occurred in a number of cities and islands in southern Iran, but no official details have been released about the cause or the extent of possible damage.

Hamshahri newspaper channel reported that residents of Jam city in Fars province heard several explosions. Domestic media also reported two explosions on Kish Island and an explosion on Abu Musa Island.

At the same time, the Iranian military issued a statement saying that in response to recent developments, it had targeted “communication systems, fuel tanks, Patriot systems, watchtowers and ammunition depots” of US forces in Kuwait using drones.

Iranian media also claimed that the country’s navy had attacked US military vessels using cruise missiles.

However, the United States has not yet confirmed or denied these claims, and independent sources have not yet been able to independently verify these reports.

Iranian officials had previously announced that they had targeted a US MQ-1 drone near the Strait of Hormuz, a claim that has not yet been independently confirmed.

The recent developments come as military tensions between Iran and the United States in the region have once again raised concerns about the spread of the conflict and its security implications.
