Local sources in Nangarhar province say that a rickshaw driver named Shabir was killed on Monday evening near his home in Surkh Rud, Jalalabad, after being severely beaten by several people.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 5 pm and the victim lost his life after being severely beaten.
Local residents claim that the son of the Taliban mayor in Jalalabad, along with his mother and several others, were present in the clash. According to them, the Taliban have so far arrested three people in connection with this case, but a close relative of the Taliban mayor, who was identified by witnesses as one of the people involved in the incident, has not yet been arrested.
A relative of the victim also claimed that the sister of the Taliban mayor in Jalalabad was also involved in the incident and called for an impartial investigation and the arrest of all those involved in the case.
