Allocation of 2,500 free visas for Afghan citizens to attend the farewell ceremony for Iran’s “martyred leader”

The deputy governor of Khorasan Razavi announced the anticipation of the presence of about 4,000 Afghan citizens in the ceremony and the formation of seven specialized working groups for management and service provision.

Kabul Times News | Hojatoleslam Ali Askari, deputy for culture, social affairs and pilgrimage of Khorasan Razavi Governorate, announced the allocation of 2,500 free visas for Afghan citizens, saying that this measure was taken with the aim of facilitating the presence of Afghan citizens in the farewell ceremony for Iran’s “martyred leader.”

According to Askari, estimates show that about 4,000 Afghan citizens will participate in the ceremony, which will be held in the city of Mashhad. He added that the issuance of free visas was done with the aim of reducing travel barriers and providing the opportunity for interested parties to attend the ceremony.

The deputy governor of Khorasan Razavi also announced the formation of seven specialized working groups to hold the ceremony, saying that these working groups are responsible for coordinating and implementing the programs in the areas of security, transportation, accommodation, ceremonies, pilgrim services, media, and international affairs.

He stated that based on the plans made, Afghan pilgrims will be welcomed after entering the land borders and after resting, they will be transferred to designated places for accommodation.

Askari added that a number of religious delegations, mosques, and takayas have been designated to accommodate the pilgrims.
