Pakistani airstrikes kill 13, wound 14

A Taliban spokesman said Pakistan had targeted areas in Afghanistan with airstrikes, killing at least 13 and wounding 14.

He said residential homes in Kunar, Khost and Paktika provinces were bombed. The statement comes as tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan have increased in recent months.

Experts believe that the Taliban's sheltering of members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and their use of Afghan soil for attacks against Pakistan is the main factor behind these tensions and Islamabad's retaliatory airstrikes.
