Afghan man accused of killing ex-wife arrested after fleeing to Czech Republic

German police said an Afghan man accused of killing his ex-wife in the city of Chemnitz, in the state of Saxony, has been arrested after fleeing to the Czech Republic and is set to be extradited to Germany to face legal action.

A 38-year-old Afghan woman was killed and a 20-year-old woman was seriously injured in the incident, police said yesterday.

German authorities have not released further details about the motive for the incident, but the investigation is ongoing.
