Reports of rocket attack on Taliban base in Badakhshan; details of casualties not yet clear.

Badakhshan – Sources affiliated with the Afghan Liberation Front have announced that a Taliban military base in Baharak district of Badakhshan province was targeted by a rocket attack on Saturday morning, June 29.

According to the claim, the attack took place at around 3:00 AM on a Taliban battalion near the “Sharkat” area in Baharak district.

The Afghan Liberation Front claims that several rockets were fired at predetermined positions in the operation and that the fighting between the two sides lasted for more than 20 minutes.

The group also said that no damage was done to its forces during the attack. However, no precise information has been released about the extent of casualties and possible damage inflicted on the Taliban.

As of the publication of this report, Taliban officials have not officially commented on the incident, and the claims made by the Afghan Liberation Front cannot be independently verified.

In recent months, the Afghan Freedom Front and some Taliban opposition groups have repeatedly claimed responsibility for attacks against Taliban-affiliated forces and centers in different parts of the country; while Taliban has in many cases denied these attacks or stated that the casualties caused by them are lower than the figures announced by the opposition groups.
