Former National Security Service employee Abdul Khaliq killed in Kabul

Local sources say that Abdul Khaliq, a former Afghan National Security Service employee, was killed by the Taliban in Kabul today, Thursday, the second day of Eid al-Adha.

According to sources, the incident took place in one of the districts of Kabul, but no further details have been released about how he was killed.

Sources close to Abdul Khaliq's family say that he had been living in secret in Kabul after the fall of the previous government and had repeatedly expressed concerns about security threats.

The Taliban have not yet officially commented on the incident.

This comes despite numerous reports in recent years of the arrest, disappearance, and killing of former Afghan government soldiers and employees; an issue that has always raised concerns among human rights organizations.

The Taliban have not yet said anything about this matter.
