Local sources in Panjshir Province report that following an explosion on Monday evening in the Abdullah Khil Valley district, Taliban forces arrested five residents of the village of Manjen٫According to the sources, three of those detained are school teachers.
Sources said the arrest operation began on Tuesday morning, while security measures in the area were significantly tightened. Reports indicate that Taliban forces continue to maintain a strong presence in the region, and there are concerns that further arrests may follow.
Meanwhile, a group known as the “Green Unit,” reportedly linked to the Green Trend movement and Amrullah Saleh, has claimed responsibility for the explosion. The group stated that it targeted a Datsun pickup truck carrying Taliban fighters in the Manjenستو area.
According to the Green Unit, approximately ten Taliban members were inside the vehicle and were being transported to a checkpoint at the time of the attack. The group claimed that the explosion completely destroyed the vehicle.
The group further stated that the attack was carried out in retaliation for the killing of two of its members who, according to the group, had been arrested and later executed by Taliban forces in the same area last year.
Local residents had earlier confirmed the explosion, but Taliban authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident or the arrests that followed.
