Local users in Badakhshan province reported that a 25-year-old man named Abdul Masour, a resident of the Baloch-dominated area of Kashm district, was murdered in a mysterious and violent manner on Friday night, May 22, 2026.
According to sources, Abdul Masour's 27-year-old wife, who had previously had an unsuccessful marriage, has been arrested by the Taliban as the main suspect in this case.
According to local users in Kashm, Badakhshan, the woman had married Abdul Masour after separating from her first husband; but the victim's family opposed the marriage from the beginning, and during their life together, tensions and family disputes had repeatedly occurred between the two parties.
Local witnesses emphasize that Abdul Masour was attacked after dinner and while resting at home. Sources claim that his wife first knocked him unconscious by mixing sleeping pills in his food and then hit him on the head with a large rock, resulting in his death.
Local sources add that after the incident, the woman initially approached Taliban officials and claimed that her husband had been killed by an unknown person; however, after initial investigations and interrogations, she finally confessed to committing the murder.
Local Taliban officials in Badakhshan have not yet officially commented on the details of the incident.
