Local sources in Kandahar and Khost provinces say that six members of the ruling group, including the head of the Taliban court for Khost province, have been killed in two separate traffic incidents.

According to the sources, five members of the Taliban special forces were killed in the first incident, which occurred on the Kandahar-Spin Boldak highway. The incident took place yesterday on a section of the busy Spin Boldak road.

Local sources say that the severity of the incident was such that the vehicle carrying these people was completely destroyed. No further details have been released about the main cause of the incident and the type of vehicles involved, but sources confirm that the victims of the incident were members of the ruling group’s special forces.

At the same time, in a separate incident on the Kabul-Khost road, the head of the Taliban court for Khost province was also killed. Sources added that several of his companions were also injured in the incident.

Local Taliban officials in Khost have confirmed the killing of the group’s court chief, but have not provided further details of the incident. Meanwhile, local officials in Kandahar have not yet officially commented on the incident on the Kandahar-Spin Boldak highway.
