New deportation of Afghan migrants from Germany; 25 people transferred to Kabul with criminal records
Reports from German media indicate that the government of this country has deported a number of Afghan citizens who were convicted of committing criminal offenses from German territory. According to Spiegel, these people were convicted in cases such as theft, drug trafficking and other serious crimes.
According to the report, a charter plane transported these people from Leipzig to Kabul and made a stop in Trabzon on its way. It is said that these people were transferred to the airport from different prisons in different German states and were accompanied under strict security measures.
This action was taken while Germany had previously returned 81 Afghan citizens with criminal records to Kabul in July 1404. According to sources, the recent deportation is considered the first case of direct transfer of Afghan migrants without mediation after the Taliban returned to power.
Reports also indicate that the deportation process for this group of migrants had already begun in September 2014 with the return of 28 people, with Qatar acting as a mediator. German officials have stressed that these measures are being taken as part of a new policy to resume deportations of migrants with criminal records, a policy that has been pursued with greater seriousness after violent incidents in the cities of Mannheim and Solingen.
