Nuristan's precious stones sold at auction; over 122 million Afghanis traded

The Taliban's Department of Mines and Petroleum in Nuristan has announced that precious and semi-precious stones from the province worth more than 122 million and 500 thousand Afghanis have been sold at an auction.

The head of the Taliban's Department of Mines and Petroleum in Nuristan said that the auction began three days ago in Doab district and ended today, Wednesday, September 11.

According to him, a number of precious and semi-precious stones extracted from Nuristan were put up for bid in this process, but no details were provided about the exact weight and type of the stones sold.

The total of 12 million and 250 thousand Afghanis from this sale will be deposited into the Taliban treasury as revenue.

Nuristan is one of the well-known provinces of Afghanistan in terms of precious and semi-precious stone reserves, and the extraction of these resources has been one of the areas of interest in recent years.
