Putin: We understand Tajikistan's concerns about the situation in Afghanistan

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow is aware of Tajikistan's concerns about the situation in Afghanistan under Taliban rule and discussed the issue during a meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Bishkek.

According to the Kremlin, the meeting took place on Tuesday, September 1, and the two sides discussed the situation in Afghanistan, security cooperation, bilateral relations, and expanding economic cooperation.

Putin called Moscow-Dushanbe relations a "strategic partnership and alliance" and announced an increase in trade exchanges between the two countries.

The situation in Afghanistan and related security concerns were among the important topics of the consultations.
