Germany Expands Deportation of Afghan Citizens in Secret Cooperation with Taliban

Germany has made a significant change in its immigration policy, expanding the process of deporting Afghan citizens, including those with no criminal record. The process is being carried out through diplomatic channels and technical cooperation with the Taliban.

In the latest development, a three-member delegation of Taliban officials has arrived in Berlin in secret. The German Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the delegation's visit is related to providing technical conditions for the deportation of more Afghan citizens.

The members of the delegation are supposed to cooperate in obtaining the identity documents needed by the deportees.

This is while the German government does not recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan, but in practice it is cooperating with representatives of the group to facilitate the deportation process of Afghans.

According to German media reports, Berlin has even allowed more Taliban representatives to operate in Afghan missions in Germany in recent months.

On August 25, Germany also deported 23 Afghan citizens on a charter flight from Leipzig-Halle Airport to Kabul.

The German government has announced that deportations will no longer be limited to criminals and dangerous individuals, but will also include some rejected asylum seekers.

This policy has been met with strong criticism from a number of politicians and human rights organizations. Critics say that practical cooperation with the Taliban, while the group is criticized for widespread human rights violations, especially the rights of women and girls, could be interpreted as a kind of de facto legitimization of the Taliban.
