Aisha Wahab: Taliban opponents are “warlord groups,” “failed,” and “misguided.”
Aisha Wahab, the first Afghan-born woman to be elected to the United States Congress, has called for a relationship between the United States and the Taliban, calling the Taliban opponents “warlord groups,” “failed,” and “misguided.”
In an interview with the “New Democracy” news network, she said that the current situation in Afghanistan is disappointing to her and that she considers the deprivation of women from education to be catastrophic for the future of the country.
But the United States must establish a relationship regardless of who is in power in Afghanistan.
Aisha Wahab added that there are “warlord” groups in Afghanistan other than the Taliban that want to come to power, but all of these groups opposing the Taliban are “extremely failed and misguided.”
However, Aisha Wahab had repeatedly spoken calmly about Afghanistan during her election campaign, but her words indicate that she accepts the dictatorial policies and government of the Taliban government, and her words during the election campaign were just a slogan to win a seat in the US Congress.
Meanwhile, Ms. Elaheh Ahrar is also trying to get into the US Congress, and she also started her election campaign with the slogan of defending women's rights and freedom of expression, and it remains to be seen to what extent the words and slogans of these candidates will be true.
