Two UNAMA Human Rights Staff Arrested by Taliban in Herat; Sources

Kabul Times News – Herat: It is said that Taliban intelligence has arrested two UNAMA human rights staff in Herat city.

According to sources, the two UNAMA staff had recently prepared a report on the situation of women and the arrest of a number of them in Herat and had talked to some of the arrested girls.

Sources said on Tuesday, August 10, that Taliban intelligence arrested and took the two staff members away on Sunday, August 18, when they were leaving their office in Herat.

So far, Taliban officials have not commented on the arrest of the two UNAMA staff members, and the official reason for this action has not been clarified.
